TEHRAN (PIN) – Director of International Energy Agency noted that without Iran’s oil, energy market will be only able to stand for a few months.
Claude Mondale told the Petroenergy Information Network correspondent in Vienna that if Iran cuts oil exports, the International Energy Agency will be forced to use its strategic petroleum reserves.
“Negotiations between OPEC and IEA are very important and can get consumers and producers close together,” he said.
The official noted that if Iran’s oil is taken out of the market, other OPEC members will be asked to use their surplus production capacities to make up for Iran’s absence in the market.
